Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Surgical Tech to support direct patient care in the operating room. You will prepare and stock the OR, gather sterile supplies, and maintain aseptic technique across UCI Health locations as needed.

Qualified candidates have at least two years in surgical technology, completion of an accredited program, and ability to work varied shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. English communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility.
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology.
• Required to float between UCI Health locations as needed.
• Completion of clinical training in an acute care perioperative setting, preferably in an academic medical center.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities in the Operating Room.
• Prepare and stock the OR before and after surgery.
• Gather clean and sterile supplies.
• Set sterile instrument fields.
• Maintain and monitor aseptic techniques.
• Assist with orientation of new staff.
• Participate on departmental committees.
