Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Atrium Health Pineville Surgery department. The position is full-time, 36 hours per week, with day shifts and additional night/weekend call as needed.

Requires aseptic technique, OR experience, and a surgical technology credential. Current BLS for Healthcare Provider is required; an accredited surgical technology program graduation is expected, with NBSTSA/NCCT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or military OR tech training.
• Two years of operating room experience preferred.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments before, during and after procedures.
• Assists the nurse circulator in preparation of patient and setup of instruments and equipment.
• Supports room turnover and proper disposition of specimens; adheres to policies and procedures.
• Monitors sterility of supplies and documents usage and charges accurately.
• Attends trainings and contributes to performance improvement initiatives.
• May act as a preceptor and clinical resource; assists with unit projects as needed.
