Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. You will assist in aseptic technique, prepare patients, assemble supplies, and aid the RN circulator during procedures.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, current BLS, and graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent; 2 years OR experience preferred. NBSTSA or NCCT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent; 2 years OR experience required.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.
• Meets all ST II qualifications of Surgical Tech Ladder.

Responsibilities

• Assist in aseptic technique and its application.
• Assist in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments for surgery.
• Assist RN circulator in patient prep and instrument assembly; support room turnover.
• Perform duties per department policy and procedure.
• Monitor sterility of supplies and ensure accurate charges.
• Document sterilization activities and participate in performance improvement.
• Attend in-services and educational opportunities to increase competency.
• Contribute to policy development and standards; may serve as a clinical resource.
• Assist in unit clinical projects as needed.
