Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Tech to support the operating room team in Matthews, NC. The role involves handling aseptic technique, preparing patients and instruments, and ensuring sterility throughout procedures.

The candidate will assist the RN circulator, monitor equipment and supplies, and participate in ongoing performance improvements. A surgical technology program completion or military OR training is required, with BLS and potential NBSTSA/NCCT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or military OR tech training.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification preferred.
• Meets ST II qualifications in the Surgical Tech Ladder.

Responsibilities

• Assists in aseptic technique and organizes supplies before, during and after procedures.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep and setup of instruments and supplies.
• Monitors sterility and ensures proper documentation of charges.
• Participates in Performance Improvement processes and staff training.
• May serve as a clinical resource/preceptor as needed.
