Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is recruiting a Surgical Technologist 2 to support the operating room team. This role requires CST certification, BLS, and the ability to prepare the operative field, handle instruments, and assist surgeons during procedures.

Responsibilities include instrument maintenance, sterile setups, counts, and post-procedure decontamination, with adherence to infection control standards.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program.
• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience.
• CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION - BLS and CST certifications.

Responsibilities

• Discuss special needs with the surgeon before surgery and scrub in on time.
• Prepare operative site and instruments for each procedure.
• Maintain instrument tables and ensure correct counts.
• Set up OR based on schedule and arrange sterile supplies.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment during surgery.
• Assist with draping, positioning, and specimen handling.
• Disassemble instruments after procedures and manage decontamination.
• Maintain inventory and compliance with infection control policies.
