Job summary

Archbold Medical Center is seeking a skilled scheduling and patient communications coordinator to organize surgery schedules, explain procedures, and answer questions for patients and families. You will obtain signatures, coordinate pre-admit timing, and ensure all charts and orders are complete while maintaining clear communication with the operating room team.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in a clinical office setting with scheduling responsibilities and preferred medical

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in an office or hospital setting with scheduling/secretarial duties.
• Medical Terminology and Secretarial courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate physicians' surgery schedules to ensure efficiency and prevent delays.
• Explain surgical procedures to patients.
• Answer questions from patients/family about diagnostic tests or surgical procedures.
• Obtain patient signatures on required forms.
• Schedule pre-op date/time with pre-admit.
• Obtain prescriptions needed for prep medications.
• Ensure orders, history/physicals, and consents are filed in patient charts.
• Handle surgery cancellations.
• Schedule appointment times for diagnostic tests for patients.
• Maintain open communication with the OR.
