Job summary

The incumbent will schedule pre-op appointments, arrange pre-admission, secure prep prescriptions, and ensure all orders and consents are in the patient’s chart while maintaining open communication with the OR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Terminology and Secretarial courses preferred.
• Must have 2 years of experience in an office or hospital setting where scheduling, secretarial duties are utilized.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate physicians' surgery schedules to ensure efficiency and prevent delays.
• Explain surgical procedure to the patient.
• Answer questions about diagnostic tests or surgical procedures.
• Obtain patient signatures on needed forms.
• Schedule pre-op date/time with pre-admit.
• Maintain open communication with the OR.
