Job summary

Insight Hospital and Medical Center in Michigan seeks an administrative receptionist on a patient care unit, under RN supervision, to serve as the central communications hub in the nursing station and to support the department with accurate, timely information.

Duties include coordinating OR case scheduling, handling on-call sheets, processing emails and faxes, maintaining charts, posting charges, and preparing daily and weekly reports to keep the unit running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Secondary education in medical assistant or secretarial skills preferred.
• BLS certification required within six months of hire.
• Quality communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordination and communication of activities involved in scheduling cases in the OR Department.
• Schedule add on cases and coordinate with anesthesia, float circulator, recovery, and ambulatory care.
• Call Administrative Supervisor if add on is ER patient admitted for a room.
• Schedule weekend/holiday infusions and injections.
• Schedule cases from various sources (printer, fax, email, phone).
• Update weekly tracking sheet and run SSI reports quarterly.
