Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years surgery scheduling experience in healthcare required.
• Experience in customer service desirable.
• Hospital registration or admitting experience desirable.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical billing/authorization required.
• Typing speed of 40+ wpm without error.
• Strong computer skills; Excel, Word, Windows.
• Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Ability to multitask.
• Strong verbal communication, problem solving, prioritization.
• Knowledge of HIPAA/confidentiality.
• Ability to stay composed under stress.
• Ability to establish constructive working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgery procedures using EMR.
• Answers phones professionally and courteously.
• Completes post-op data entry in a timely and accurate manner.
• Completes daily surgical schedule and distributes as appropriate.
• Posts surgical charges on a daily basis per established guidelines.
• Produces and distributes daily surgical log.
• Assures coordination with other departments when special needs occur.
• Other duties as assigned.
