Job summary

AHMC HealthCare in Riverside, CA is looking for an OR Scheduling Secretary to provide clerical support in the Operating Room area. You will answer phones, schedule patients for the OR and GI Lab, maintain OR records, and ensure accuracy of charges and logs.

You will transmit orders to ancillary departments and coordinate with the Clinical Coordinator and physicians as directed, under a licensed nurse supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Past hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider) certification.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Ability to exercise telephone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones for surgery scheduling.
• Accurately schedule patients for the Operating Room and GI Lab.
• Maintain all OR records, including patient charges and OR Log, ensuring records are accurate and current.
• Transmit physician’s orders to ancillary departments.
• Communicate with Clinical Coordinator regarding the OR schedule and messages.
• Communicate with physicians and offices as directed.
• Work under the direction of a licensed nurse.
