Job summary

TSAOG Orthopaedics & Spine is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of the physician's surgery practice. You will coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure surgical approvals and scheduling are completed smoothly.

Key duties include managing the surgical schedule, processing authorization, coordinating pre-surgical requirements, and communicating costs with patients while linking to financial counseling when necessary.

Qualifications

• Must have clinical knowledge and EMR familiarity.
• Familiar with health insurance requirements as it relates to medical reimbursement.
• Must demonstrate strong and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with administrative and clinical staff to ensure efficient delivery of services.
• Oversees day-to-day activities and schedule of surgical patients.
• Ensures surgical orders are submitted for authorization.
• Schedules patients for surgery and informs about pre-surgical requirements.
• Explains co-payment or out-of-pocket costs and refers to a financial counselor when needed.
• Maintains surgical schedule and liaises with authorization department.
