Job summary

Advocate Health\u200b seeks a Surgery Coordinator Lead to schedule and coordinate surgical procedures and related services. The role provides daily guidance to Patient Service Representative staff and acts as a primary resource for patients and departments involved in scheduling.

The incumbent will train PSR staff, manage insurance submissions and pre-certifications, and ensure adherence to scheduling guidelines while leveraging EPIC, Cadence, and OnBase systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience as a Patient Service Representative.
• Knowledge of EPIC, Cadence, OnBase, and OR Case Request systems.
• Excellent communication and medical terminology knowledge.
• Understanding of third-party payor requirements and insurance pre-certifications.
• Strong data entry skills with minimal errors.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate surgical cases and related arrangements.
• Propose surgery dates/times to physicians for OR utilization.
• Maintain understanding of procedural logistics and scheduling needs.
• Ensure cases are scheduled in correct location per guidelines.
• Prepare patient reports for physicians and department.
