WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals seeks an organized Scheduler to coordinate master clinic and OR schedules for physicians, residents, and staff. The role involves managing pre-admission testing, coordinating elective and emergent surgeries, and communicating procedures to patients and providers.

The position requires strong scheduling, problem-solving, and document management skills, with a focus on maximizing OR utilization and patient flow in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years medical office experience, or an associate’s degree with 1 year medical office experience, or a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.
• Strong scheduling and coordination abilities for master clinic and OR schedules.
• Ability to communicate with patients, families and providers within scope of knowledge.

Responsabilidades

• Responsible for master clinic and OR scheduling. Review schedules, add/delete clinics, monitor physician and staff schedules, and maintain monthly call schedules.
• Coordinate specialty clinics with the clinic manager to ensure proper scheduling and staffing.
• Schedule elective and emergent surgeries and assist in scheduling urgent cases.
• Schedule surgeries in ORs, clinics, Cancer Center and outreach facilities, and optimize OR time.
• Arrange pre-certification and authorization with third party payers and assist with social services referrals as needed.
• Ensure documentation and paperwork (consents, clearances, outside test results) are properly filed in EPIC.
