Job summary

MidLantic Urology is seeking an ASC Surgery Scheduler to coordinate and preauthorize surgeries and procedures for patients. You will review pre-op tests, medications, allergies, and medical history; handle scheduling codes and maintain patient confidentiality in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with surgical facilities, auditing schedules for accuracy, and delivering excellent patient service across all interactions.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Skill in using computer programs and applications including Microsoft Office. Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR.
• Ability to multi-task with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Schedules office, surgery centers and hospital-based medical procedures for patients with provider and time/location slot.
• Pre-authorizes surgeries through insurance companies and schedules procedures at the designated facility.
• Maintains a surgical log for statistical analysis.
• Provides pre-surgical packets to patients with date and pre-operative instructions.
• Coordinates with surgical facilities for special equipment or personnel.
