Job summary

Virginia Urology in Richmond, VA is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to organize tests, diagnostics and surgical procedures, ensuring clearances and authorizations are secured and billing arrangements are in place for safe, timely operations.

You will educate patients, coordinate with surgical centers and keep the team informed of schedules with accuracy and empathy, supporting patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to quickly and accurately enter data into a computer.
• Experience in patient registration or medical administrative roles.

Responsibilities

• Schedule tests, diagnostics and surgical procedures per physician orders and facility availability.
• Ensure necessary medical clearances and insurance authorizations are secured.
• Coordinate with billing and patient education to support safe, timely procedures.
• Communicate surgical orders, pre-certifications and chart documentation to the facility.
• Educate patients about upcoming procedures and required preparations.
