Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Surgical Scheduler to courteously and professionally schedule inpatient and outpatient procedures. The role supports the Jefferson Experience by emphasizing prompt and courteous patient treatment.

The Scheduler will handle pre-procedure calls, verify insurance details and authorizations, provide pre-op instructions, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards while interacting with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the Jefferson values.
• Collect and review patient insurance information including prior authorizations and referrals for scheduled procedures.
• Completes pre-procedure calls and confirms appointment times with patients.
• Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and complies with regulatory standards.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.
