Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of medical office scheduling or hospital administration experience.
• Knowledge of insurance rules and medical terminology.
• Experience with EMR scheduling systems (Allscripts Pro Suite preferred).

Responsibilities

• Schedule office and hospital-based procedures using appropriate scheduling codes.
• Coordinate with PCP offices, vendors, and surgical staff.
• Enter notes and instructions in the EMR and update as needed.
• Communicate with patients regarding pre-certification, authorization, and scheduling steps.
• Obtain pre-surgical clearances and testing and arrange pre-op/post-op appointments.
• Ensure insurance pre-authorizations are obtained or communicated to the necessary parties.
