Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a full-time Medical Office Scheduler to coordinate cases with the OR and GI Endoscopy units, gather patient information, schedule procedures and testing, and ensure efficient use of resources.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year of medical office or hospital setting experience; benefits are provided, and the position offers a 40-hour work week in Hopewell, VA.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with OR and GI Endoscopy Unit to schedule cases, negotiating date/time and avoiding conflicts.
• Gathers complete patient and procedure information and schedules procedures and testing.
• Pre-certification and referrals from insurance carriers; facilitates maximum utilization and efficiency.
• Oversees front desk operations, patient check-in/out, and registration processes.
• Reviews issues with physicians and directs complex cases to the Director/Manager.
• Plans daily schedule to maximize physician productivity and coordinates resources.
