Job summary

Premier Orthopaedics, in partnership with Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder, seeks a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate office and hospital-based procedures in East Norriton, PA. You will manage scheduling, pre-authorization, and patient education to ensure timely care and accurate documentation.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years medical scheduling experience, EMR proficiency, and strong communication skills to liaise with PCPs, patients, and vendors.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of medical office scheduling experience in a hospital or similar setting.
• Knowledge of insurance rules, medical terminology, and coding.
• Experience with EMR systems (Allscripts Pro Suite preferred).
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule office and hospital-based procedures using correct codes.
• Coordinate with staff and physicians to ensure smooth patient care.
• Enter notes in the EMR and update scheduling details.
• Call patients to schedule surgery and pre/post-op appointments.
• Obtain medical clearances and pre-surgical testing.
• Coordinate insurance pre-authorizations and financial counseling.
• Update patient information in PM system and EMR.
• Cancel appointments and communicate changes to stakeholders.
