Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; one year of prior surgery scheduling experience in a healthcare setting highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, insurance verification, medical terminology and surgical procedures. Outstanding customer service and communication skills a must.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for surgery and complete necessary paperwork
• Confirm demographics, surgery date/time, and medical diagnosis
• Review pre-op instructions and medical clearance with patients
• Gather and verify insurance coverage and benefits
• Ensure all consent forms and paperwork are on file
• Answer inbound inquiries regarding surgeries
• Schedule follow-up appointments and health assessments
• Coordinate with physicians to manage the surgery schedule
• Coordinate medical clearance when needed
• Maintain regular attendance and adhere to policies
