Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit, a 43-bed, high-acuity unit specializing in acute and chronic digestive surgical care. You will support postoperative care, wound and ostomy management, and work closely with residents and OMFS to ensure safe transitions.

The ideal candidate holds an Illinois RN license with BLS, strong documentation, and thrives in a team-based, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in IL with current BLS certification.
• Diploma or GED required; hospital-based experience preferred.
• Ability to provide high-acuity postoperative nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessment and develop care plans for digestive surgical patients.
• Provide postoperative care, wound management, and ostomy care.
• Collaborate with surgical residents, OMFS and care teams; ensure patient safety.
• Document care accurately and monitor for safety hazards.
