Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an RN for the NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit, a 43-bed unit specializing in acute and chronic digestive surgical patients. You will provide postoperative care, wound and ostomy management, and work closely with surgical residents and OMFS teams.

The role requires RN licensure in Illinois, BLS, and a strong commitment to patient safety. A sign-on bonus and relocation incentives are available for external applicants.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Illinois with BLS within 30 days.
• BSN or higher preferred? (not stated)
• HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit according to scope of service.
• Document nursing care accurately for the healthcare team.
• Conducts initial patient assessment and develops care plans.
• Implements and modifies plan of care based on evaluation.
• Ensure patient and staff safety and escalate hazards.
• Collaborates with surgical residents and OMFS services.
• Provide post-operative care for complex surgical patients.
