Job summary

Nicklaus Children's Health System in Florida seeks an IT/Operations Analyst to coordinate development of automated programs and to support planning of healthcare information systems for the OR department.

You will onboard surgeon practices with booking in EMR, revise block schedules, and collaborate with credentialed surgeons to schedule non-block cases. You will generate throughput reports and drive Lean improvements across IT systems.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field.
• Prior experience with Information systems (e.g. troubleshooting in Cerner, Business Objects, etc.).
• Medical, hospital, or physician office scheduling experience
• Prior experience in healthcare setting

Responsibilities

• Creates throughput operational reports (e.g., turnover, first case starts, same-day cancellations).
• Revises block schedules for all surgical areas.
• Onboards new surgeon practices with booking in EMR and other operational support.
• Collaborates with credentialed surgeons/offices to schedule non-block cases into open times.
• Coordinates meetings with physician offices to improve scheduling processes.
• Communicates project status and trends through reports to support evaluation of system approaches.
• Drives continuous process improvement and Lean in IT systems.
• Maintains current systems, applications, and serves as SME for Operating Room applications.
• Works with OR leadership and supply chain on Vendormate management in surgical services.
• Assists Surgical Services Leadership Team with administrative duties.
