Job summary

Nicklaus Children's is seeking an Operating Room Systems Coordinator to apply systems analysis principles in coordinating automated programs and projects, supporting the planning and implementation of healthcare information systems within the department, including data management, inventory, and tissue tracking.

The role encompasses creating throughput reports, revising block schedules, onboarding new surgeon practices in the EMR, coordinating with physician offices on scheduling improvements,

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field.
• Prior experience with Information systems (e.g. troubleshooting in Cerner, Business Objects, etc.)
• Medical, hospital, or physician office scheduling experience
• Prior experience in healthcare setting

Responsibilities

• Creates throughput operational reports (turnover, first case starts, same day cancelations).
• Revises block schedules for all surgical areas.
• Onboards new surgeon practices with booking in EMR and operational support.
• Collaborates with credentialed surgeons and offices to schedule non-block cases.
• Coordinates meetings with physician offices to improve scheduling processes.
• Maintains and enhances OR systems; serves as SME for applications used by the Operating Room.
