Job summary

Carle Health seeks an experienced RN for NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit, a 43-bed unit specializing in acute and chronic digestive surgical care. You will provide post-operative and wound care, including ostomies and drains, while collaborating with surgical residents and OMFS teams.

Weekly nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:4–6, with higher acuity cases requiring 1:3. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants committing three years.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in IL with current license or eligibility.
• BLS certification required.
• HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing duties for NT7 Digestive Surgical Unit patients.
• Document care plans and progress in medical records.
• Assess, plan and implement post-operative care and wound management.
• Care for tracheostomies, ostomies, drains and line care.
• Collaborate with surgical residents and OMFS teams for safe transitions.
