Covenant HealthCare in Michigan is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate surgical appointments, pre-operative testing, and post-operative follow-ups. Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Terminology.
• Three (3) years' experience scheduling in a physician office or surgical services.
• Three (3) years' experience as a Medical Assistant with demonstrated procedural or prior authorization experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Schedules patients for surgery/procedure, pre-surgical appointment with PCP and/or specialist, pre-operative class, post-operative appointment.
• Coordinate scheduling with hospital and/or Surgery Center including notification to Pre-admission testing department.
• Maintain physician schedules and adjust for cancellations.
• Arrange patients into order based on physician preferences; treat priority patients accordingly.
• Scan procedure sheets and orders into Epic.
• Communicate with insurance to obtain authorization and enter data into EPIC; keep provider privileges updated.
• Notify OR, labs and scheduling of special equipment needs and coordinate with company reps.
• Know equipment needs per physician for common procedures; ensure special needs addressed when scheduling.
• Explain pre-surgery steps and contact information to patient and family.
• Ensure testing orders and clearances are received and scanned into Epic.
• Answer calls promptly to patients, insurers, pre-admission testing, surgery scheduling, and physicians.
• Assist cath, EP, IR labs and OR in scheduling cases; perform other duties as assigned.
