Job summary

Munson Healthcare in northern Michigan is seeking a Surgery Scheduler who will act as a liaison between patients, physicians and staff to schedule and coordinate surgical and diagnostic procedures. You will obtain pre-operative paperwork, manage and distribute schedules, support the surgical department, data entry and scheduling tasks.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team while handling multiple

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate degree in business, accounting, medical office management, or related field preferred.
• 5 years’ experience in a fast-paced, customer-driven work environment with scheduling needs.
• Experience in customer service with physician office staff and public contact.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under stress.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate all surgical and diagnostic procedures as liaison between patients, staff and physicians.
• Obtain all pre-operative paperwork required and distribute schedules to physicians and departments.
• Produce and distribute surgical and procedural schedules; provide department support including data entry and meetings.
• Support the surgical department operations and scheduling activities as needed.
