Qualifications

• Two years of medical registration, billing, scheduling, or insurance experience.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and calendaring programs.

Responsibilities

• Creates and manages provider’s surgery/hospital procedure schedules and follows up on changes and cancellations.
• Obtains authorization for surgeries/procedures by researching coverage and securing prior auth; coordinates referrals for out-of-network cases.
• Proposes iCentra requirements to create pre-surgical FIN# and scheduling cards for hospital staff.
• Coordinates with providers and hospital staff to ensure necessary equipment and hospital items are available for cases.
• Meets with patients to explain pre-operative processes and coordinates pre-op labs/tests and safety concerns.
• Documents cost estimations and investigates billing disputes related to surgeries/procedures.
