Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health seeks a Patient Financial Access Specialist - Clinical Scheduling to coordinate appointment, procedure and surgery scheduling across multiple departments. You will work with patients, physicians and staff to schedule complex cases, ensure necessary pre-op work is completed, and communicate requirements to all parties.

Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and ability to manage time-sensitive schedules are essential.

Qualifications

• Two to three years in a customer service role, preferably in hospital or physician office with high call volumes and low abandonment rates.
• Experience in scheduling physician and testing services and ensuring patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Patient throughput: obtain required information from referring providers for reimbursement.
• Coordinate and sequence complex procedures across departments.
• Support surgical scheduling and prepare booking sheets and consents.
• Utilize Epic and related systems to schedule patient appointments accurately.
• Maintain knowledge of Epic scheduling for time-sensitive procedures.
• Provide QA support and cross-department coverage as needed.
• Deliver service excellence and ensure a positive patient experience.
• Update training materials and train staff as required.
