Job summary

Minnesota Oncology is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator to manage internal surgery scheduling from physician orders, coordinate OR blocks, anesthesia, and necessary staff or equipment. You will provide patients with pre-operative test information and ensure timely insurance pre-certifications.

The role requires excellent communication, multitasking, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. A background in medical terminology and scheduling supports success in a fast-paced oncology center.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to multitask.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of medical and surgical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate surgical procedures based on physician orders.
• Arrange OR dates/times, anesthesia, and required staff/equipment.
• Obtain pre-operative testing results and insurance pre-certifications as directed.
