Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator Specialist to coordinate patient appointments across multiple resources, review surgical orders, and arrange pre-op and ancillary services for assigned providers. You will communicate with the surgical team, patients, and families to ensure accurate scheduling and high levels of service.

The role requires at least one year in a hospital or outpatient setting, familiarity with medical terminology, and proficiency with Microsoft

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum one year in a hospital, outpatient facility, or physician office.
• Medical terminology knowledge required and strong computer skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and organization; customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments across multiple resources and providers.
• Review surgical orders for accuracy and arrange pre-op/ancillary services.
• Communicate with surgical team, patients and families; provide follow-up.
• Serve as preceptor for new hires and manage routine administrative duties.
