Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years as a medical assistant with hospital, home health, or office experience; orthopedics preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA) preferred.
• Two years of surgery scheduling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Receive, document, and handle incoming calls; schedule surgeries and ancillary procedures.
• Prepare pre-op, follow-up, and initial PT appointments at appropriate facilities.
• Obtain pre-authorization and coordinate with providers and insurance.
• Manage authorization tracking and communicate with physicians and patients.
• Provide orders and patient education; ensure timely responses to patient inquiries.
