Texas Orthopedics, a Division of OrthoLoneStar, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support concierge clinical care and orchestrate surgical scheduling across multiple locations. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, patient communication, and timely care coordination.

The ideal candidate has CMA certification, solid knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced orthopedic setting while maintaining patient safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• Two years as a medical assistant with hospital, home health, or office experience; preferably orthopedics related.
• Two years of surgery scheduling preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, document, and handle incoming calls.
• Schedule surgeries, MRI’s, CT scans, Myelograms, Epidurals, etc., with pre-op, follow-up and initial PT appointments as needed.
• Submit medical records and obtain necessary documentation for pre-authorization.
• Consult with providers to obtain clearance that treatment is medically necessary before initiating insurance requests.
• Document authorization numbers and dates in EMR for the episode of care.
