Texas Orthopedics in Austin, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical operations at the TXO-South Austin Clinic. You will manage calls, schedule surgeries, coordinate tests, and assist in patient education, ensuring timely communication with providers and patients.

Qualifications

• Two years as a medical assistant with hospital, home health, or office experience; preferably orthopedics related.
• Two years of surgery scheduling preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, document, and handle in-coming calls; schedule surgeries and imaging.
• Submit medical records and obtain pre-authorization as needed.
• Coordinate with providers for treatment clearance and insurance processes.
• Document authorization numbers and dates in EMR.
• Assist with pre-authorization, eligibility verification, and patient cost estimates.
• Schedule appointments and manage lab result entry in EMR.
• Maintain confidentiality and provide coverage as needed.
• Some travel to other locations may be required.
