Job summary

Texas Orthopedics, A Division of Ortholonestar is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide concierge patient service and coordinate therapies, imaging, and scheduling in Leander, TX. The role supports physicians and care teams to optimize patient flow and safety in a busy orthopedic setting.

Responsibilities include handling calls, scheduling surgeries and tests, processing documents, and ensuring timely communication with patients.

Qualifications

• Two years as a medical assistant with hospital, home health, or office experience; preferably orthopedics.
• Two years of surgery scheduling preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls and schedule surgeries, imaging, and pre-op and post-op appointments.
• Submit medical records and obtain pre-authorization when needed.
• Coordinate with providers to verify medical necessity and manage authorizations.
• Document authorization numbers in the EMR accurately.
• Monitor adverse events and ensure timely communication with patients and physicians.
• Travel between clinic locations as needed.
