Texas Orthopedics, a division of OrthoLoneStar, is seeking a Surgery Scheduler/Triage in Round Rock, TX. The role coordinates care outside clinic visits, balancing patient needs with physician schedules and insurer requirements.

Responsibilities include scheduling surgeries, documenting in EMR, and delivering concierge customer service. The ideal candidate has CMA certification preferred and 2+ years in medical assisting or scheduling, in orthopedics if possible.

Qualifications

• Two years as a medical assistant with hospital, home health, or office experience.
• Two years of surgery scheduling preferred.
• CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, document, and handle incoming calls; schedule surgeries and pre‑op appointments.
• Submit medical records and obtain pre-authorization as needed.
• Coordinate with the provider to ensure medical necessity before insurance requests.
• Monitor the authorization process; update physicians and patients as needed.
• Document authorization numbers in the EMR; ensure accuracy and dates.
• Assist with obtaining prior-auth including eligibility verification and estimated patient payment.
