Job summary

Texas Orthopedics Northwest Austin is seeking a Surgery Scheduler/Triage to coordinate patient inquiries and schedule surgeries, imaging, and pre/post-operative activities. The role involves liaising with providers, patients, and insurance, and ensuring timely communication and documentation in the EMR system.

The ideal candidate will have medical assistant experience, scheduling background, and CMA certification, with the ability to work in a fast-paced orthopedic setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years as a medical assistant with hospital, home health, or office experience; orthopedics preferred.
• Two years of surgery scheduling experience preferred.
• Current CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, document, and handle in-coming calls and schedule surgeries and related procedures.
• Coordinate pre-op, follow-up and initial PT appointments at appropriate facilities.
• Submit medical records and obtain pre-authorization as needed.
• Assist with obtaining prior-auth, eligibility verification, and patient payment estimates.
• Document authorization numbers and dates in the EMR and keep patients informed.
