Qualifications

• Must be proficient in obtaining insurance pre-authorizations.
• 1 year of direct surgery scheduling experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems and medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones, schedules patient appointments and directs calls.
• Maintains physicians' calendars and coordinates with hospitals/ASC for procedures.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains precertifications/authorizations.
• Communicates expected patient financial responsibilities and time/location instructions.
• Enters benefits into the EMR system and coordinates with referring offices.
• Supports scheduling team and covers coworkers as needed.
