Job summary

EyeSouth Partners is seeking a detail-driven Surgery Coordinator to manage scheduling for ophthalmology procedures. The role coordinates between patients, surgeons, facilities, anesthesia teams, and insurance providers to ensure smooth patient flows.

You will handle pre-op testing coordination, obtain pre-authorizations, and provide clear pre- and post-operative instructions while maintaining excellent patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Scheduler/Coordinator experience; ophthalmology preferred.
• Experience with EHR software; Nextech/ICP preferred.
• Knowledge of contracted insurance plans and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Must be able to travel to all practice locations.

Responsibilities

• Schedules ophthalmic surgeries according to surgeon availability and facility requirements.
• Coordinates pre-op testing and ensures equipment and implants are ready.
• Obtains pre-authorizations and verifies benefits for procedures.
• Contacts patients with dates, arrival times, and post-op instructions.
• Maintains accurate documentation, waitlists, and compliance.
• Travels to practice locations as needed.
