Job summary

NorthBay Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join the clinic care team. You will orchestrate scheduling for tests, pre-op and post-op visits, and complex procedures, while coordinating with the OR scheduler and staff to ensure payer requirements are met.

Responsibilities include securing accurate patient demographics and authorizations, verifying benefits, and maintaining clear communication with patients and physicians to prevent delays in care. Strong organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Minimum three years in a clinic setting with health insurance/benefits knowledge and scheduling experience in surgery settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance/benefits and enter data into the PM system; obtain authorizations as needed.
• Schedule pre- and post-op appointments with knowledge of pre-admission requirements.
• Coordinate surgeon schedules with OR and multidisciplinary teams to optimize OR utilization.
• Communicate clearly with patients, physicians and staff; ensure accurate demographics and payer info.
