Job summary

Presbyterian Rust Medical Center is hiring a Surgery Scheduler to coordinate complex surgical procedures and related pre/post-operative activities. The role emphasizes accurate scheduling, communication with surgeons, patients, and OR staff, and ensuring prior authorizations are in place.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least 18 months of clinical experience, with strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 18 months experience in a clinical setting.
• One-on-one experience with surgeons preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with providers, patients, and stakeholders.
• Manage complex provider schedules including OR, ASC and clinic schedules.
• Ensure scheduling accuracy and coordinate preoperative studies and clearances.
• Schedule complex surgical procedures (joint replacement, cardio-thoracic, robotic cases, etc.).
• Obtain prior authorizations, certifications, and referrals before procedures.
• Coordinate post-operative follow-ups and maintain schedules.
• Communicate with patients via in person, phone, MyChart or interpreters.
• Assist leadership with provider issues and staffing templates.
