Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to orchestrate complex operational logistics, aligning resources, personnel and services for surgical procedures.

You will manage scheduling, data entry, and template maintenance, producing schedules and ensuring room and equipment readiness for procedures. The role requires strong organizational skills and proficiency with scheduling systems, plus clear communication with patients and physicians.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED with 2 years of healthcare experience.
• Experience using scheduling systems and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the surgery schedule, providing necessary information to patients and physicians.
• Coordinate, register and schedule appointments for patients according to availability.
• Conduct patient pre-certification on proper insurance approval for appointments and medical care.
• Ensure all pre-operative required tests are scheduled and completed.
• Coordinate and ensure necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medication, etc. is arranged prior to scheduled procedure.
• Communicate detailed information and answer patients' questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival / departure instructions relative to procedure.
