Job summary

The Portland Clinic is seeking a detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler to support two busy surgeons in a 40-hour workweek. You will schedule surgeries, coordinate pre-operative testing, obtain insurance information, and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR.

This role requires strong communication, organization, and teamwork to maintain smooth patient flow. You will work closely with Day Surgery, hospital schedulers, and physician staff to resolve delays, cancellations, and scheduling issues

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate medical software and EHR systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Patient-focused with professional phone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Accurately schedule surgeries and procedures in Day Surgery or hospital as directed by the physician.
• Coordinate pre-operative testing and referrals.
• Obtain insurance information and complete referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Maintain and communicate patient preparation and instructions for procedures.
• Screen calls, route messages, and reschedule as needed.
• Coordinate with Day Surgery, hospital schedulers, and physicians' staff.
