Orchard Park Surgery Center is seeking a Surgery Scheduler under the direction of the Business Office Manager to maintain the daily surgery schedule and handle all scheduling processes, collaborating with doctors’ offices and OR staff to ensure smooth operations and high levels of service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of hospital, ASC, or medical office scheduling experience.
• Ability to communicate professionally, verbally and non-verbally.
• Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Desire to contribute to the ASC and improve processes.
• Professional appearance and attire.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Sets priorities and organizes work.
• Schedules patient procedures to ensure efficient processing, including 23-hour stays.
• Coordinates with anesthesia groups to confirm scheduling coverage.
• Verifies information for accuracy (name, DOB, gender, insurance).
• Ensures all paperwork for patient add-ons is received.
• Communicates schedule changes to staff.
• Collaborates with OR and Materials managers to avoid conflicts.
• Alerts administration when new doctors or procedures are scheduled.
• Cross-trains with other business office areas.
• Completes consents and submits to chart builder.
• Promotes positive relationships with schedulers, physicians and nursing staff.
