Job summary

Intermountain Health Logan Regional Hospital is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to manage the complex logistics of booking surgeries. You will act as a central coordinator among providers, patient care teams, and hospital departments to ensure OR readiness, accurate patient data, and smooth surgical flow.

The role requires strong customer service, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Basic computer literacy to enter, update, and retrieve information accurately.
• Demonstrated customer service skills, including empathy and clear communication.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support day-to-day operations.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or entry-level medical training (preferred).
• Experience with scheduling or similar role (preferred).
• Experience using EMR systems, including Epic (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Maintains the surgery schedule and coordinates with providers and offices.
• Coordinates patient placement, ensuring equipment, implants, and room availability before the procedure.
• Communicates arrival and procedure times in detail.
• Answers patients’ questions with professional customer service and empathy.
• Works with subspecialty teams to ensure implants and supplies are accurate.
• Assists with cancellations by identifying reasons and passing along pertinent information.
• May learn billing and auditing roles.
