Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a detail‑oriented OR Scheduling Clerk to coordinate surgical reservations and route cases in the daily operating room schedule. The role involves communicating procedures to vendors and surgical offices, translating faxed reservations into scheduled cases, and supporting the Perioperative leadership.

You will assist the OR charge nurse, help maintain add-ons and cancellations, and ensure charges are captured accurately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: 0-1 years experience in a medical office/healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist OR charge nurse and maintain add-ons and cancellations for the current day OR schedule.
• Coordinate OR schedule flow with surgeons, staff, management and physicians.
• Ensure charges are captured and entered in a timely manner; investigate charge denials or errors.
• Answer multi-line phone system, sort mail, manage timecards in Kronos, and coordinate patient transport.
