Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare in Utah Valley Clinic, Provo, seeks a Surgery Scheduling/Patient Access professional to manage provider surgery schedules, obtain authorizations, and coordinate pre-op activities. You will verify coverage, document cost estimates, and ensure timely hospital orders and CPT/ICD coding accuracy.

Responsibilities include communicating with providers, nursing staff, and patients, preparing scheduling cards, and validating pre-operative requirements while supporting billing

Qualifications

• Two years of medical registration, billing, scheduling, or insurance experience.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Education verification for required degree.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage provider’s surgery/hospital procedure schedules and rescheduling.
• Obtain prior authorization by researching coverage and confirming CPT/ICD codes.
• Coordinate with providers, nursing staff, and hospital staff for necessary equipment and hospital items.
• Document process and cost estimations; investigate billing disputes for surgeries.
• Communicate with patients about pre-op labs, tests, and prerequisites.
