Qualifications

• Minimum 2-4 years of hospital or medical office experience.
• Professional appearance.
• Strong medical terminology.
• Excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Sets priorities and organizes work.
• Schedules patient procedures to ensure efficient and accurate processing (OR, GI, 23-hour stay).
• Coordinates with anesthesia groups to confirm scheduling for coverage.
• Verifies patient information for accuracy (name, DOB, gender, insurance).
• Ensures all necessary paperwork for add-ons is received by the appropriate staff.
• Communicates schedule changes to staff and ensures all fields in Advantx are complete.
• Collaborates with OR director to avoid equipment or supply conflicts.
• Alerts administration when new doctors or procedures are scheduled.
• Cross trains with other areas.
• Completes consents and submits to chart builder; supports scheduling coordinators and physicians.
