Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Procedure/Surgery Scheduler to coordinate and support the scheduling of surgeries in collaboration with surgical departments, surgeons, physician’s assistants and patients.

They will allocate surgical blocks, provide data and reports related to the house of surgery, and demonstrate initiative and strong organizational skills to support physicians, patients, administrators and the institution.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required, or two years of medical appointment scheduling experience in a healthcare facility, or six months of internal Mayo Clinic experience.
• Proficiency in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology preferred.
• Must possess strong conflict management skills and the ability to independently problem solve.
• Must have clerical skills and experience with multiple software systems.

Responsibilities

• The Procedure/Surgery Scheduler will coordinate and support the scheduling of surgeries in collaboration with surgical departments, external business representatives, surgeons, physician’s assistants and patients.
• They will allocate surgical blocks in collaboration with department operations administrators, surgeons, physician’s assistants, clinic scheduling and desk personnel.
• They will provide data and reports related to the house of surgery, as requested and demonstrate initiative and proficient organizational skills.
