Job summary

OrthoAtlanta in Georgia is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to manage schedules for procedures, surgeries, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments per physician orders and patient needs.

You’ll be the primary point of contact for surgical patients, providing information, answering questions, coordinating with Surgical Assistants, operating rooms, and providers to ensure staff, equipment, and materials are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of healthcare experience.
• Working knowledge of medical insurance and terminology.
• Experience with electronic medical records (Epic preferred).
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule surgeries, procedures, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments per physician orders and patient needs.
• Act as the primary point of contact for surgical patients, providing information and answering questions.
• Coordinate with Surgical Assistants, operating rooms, and providers to ensure availability of staff, equipment, and materials.
• Confirm insurance authorizations and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
• Maintain detailed and accurate schedules in the electronic medical record system.
